1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots are adept in removing dirt and dust particles on floors and Top Rated Robot Vacuum carpets, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self cleaning vacuum-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and top rated robot vacuum control your robot using voice or through the app.

In our tests the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task being performed. It can quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments as well as the Wand clip. This is a big improvement over older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is an average, not an exceptional, run time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. This is enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every spot. (A second time generally works). However, this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It was able to pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and can better navigate its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a greater variety of automation options.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that is found on all kinds of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're also one of the top robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to navigate and use as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.

It also has a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the vacuum's battery status and send it back to its dock to charge at the push of the button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to tell where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.

The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot should you need to. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can cause confusion for other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. And the ability to set up the weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
